Cyclone Ockhi Kerala: 13 people passes away in Cyclone Ockhi, 117 fishers missing.


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cyclone Ockhi that attack Kerala two days back takes the lives of nearly 13 individuals. As per the reports, nearly 117 fishers are still missing.

Nearly 450 fishers have been evacuated by several organizations and nearly 530 families shifted to relief camps in Kerala.
 Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan mentioned, “I have approved chief secretary K M Abraham for making a full reprsentation in this issue,” he confirmed.

The local govt has also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the kins of anglers who passed away in Ockhi cyclone. The Kerala govt on Weekend advised the Center to announce the cyclone as a nationwide disaster.

The fishers have obstructed visitors on Weekend in frustration.
The fishers group here on Weekend made the decision to release their own save operations as 55 vessels stepped into the sea to search for the 115 losing fishers.

 Dispelling speculation about another low stress system which would hit Chennai on Dec 4, the Area Cyclone Caution Center said it was too soon to calculate. “Once it becomes a depression, we can estimate where it will make landfall”.
